Bathing Your Horse

Bathing your horse can be a very easy process if you simply take your time and allow your horse to make the right choice. It should not take two people to hold your horse in order for you to control him as you hose him off nor do you need cross ties to restrain him. As a matter of FACT the less restraint you have on your horse the better he will behave and the more control you will have, just the opposite of what most folks do. However it is a process that takes some time. In the end you will have a horse that respects you and your wishes. A little common sense goes a long way in bathing your horse so please watch this short series of clips that will show you the process.

In this second clip you'll see the progress being made. Please notice that I do ask the horse to stand still but never do I FORCE him to stand still. This works very well because horses always seek the LEAST STRESSFUL PLACE. If given a choice they will in time always choose the right place to be which of course makes for a really nice obedient horse and one that respects you as well!

In this final clip you will notice these horses are fairly content as they stand still just enjoying that fact alone. In time your horse will act the same way. Be patient but persistent. It takes time to "MAKE" a horse. All the little things you do day in and day out are what make the picture so nice.
